Question 1

What is strata management software?

Accepted Answer

Strata management software is a digital platform that helps strata councils and property managers streamline building operations. It centralizes tasks like parking management, maintenance tracking, notice distribution, document storage, and resident communication into one easy-to-use system, replacing scattered spreadsheets and paper processes.

Question 2

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

Most buildings are fully digitized and ready for launch within 7 to 14 days. Our dedicated Canadian onboarding team handles the heavy lifting — securely importing your existing resident data, parking matrices, and governance rules — so your council never has to spend a weekend on data entry.

Question 3

Do I need technical expertise to use StrataStation?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. StrataStation is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly. If you can use email and browse the web, you can use StrataStation. Our team provides comprehensive training during onboarding, and our Canadian support team is always available to help.

Question 4

Can we evaluate the platform before committing our building?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We do not offer generic self-serve trials because setting up a building properly takes care and security. Instead, we offer the Charter Pilot Program, where our team handles the full setup and data migration so you can evaluate the platform with your real building data. Book a demo to see if your building qualifies.

Question 5

What's included in pricing?

Accepted Answer

Plans include different combinations of parking, notices, maintenance, documents, community, bookings, voting, and resident management. Visit our pricing page to compare plan features and per unit prices.

Question 6

What does onboarding include? Are there contracts?

Accepted Answer

Our standard implementation includes guided data migration, configuration, and training handled by our dedicated Canadian onboarding team. Qualifying Charter Pilot buildings receive complete setup at no additional cost. There are no long-term contracts either — you can cancel anytime with 90 days notice.

Question 7

How does per-unit pricing work?

Accepted Answer

Our pricing is based on the number of units in your building. This ensures fair pricing whether you're managing a 20-unit townhouse complex or a 500-unit high-rise. Volume discounts are available for property management companies managing multiple buildings.

Question 8

Is there a minimum fee for small buildings?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the full platform has a minimum monthly fee of $147 so we can provide quality support and service. Buildings with 33 or more units pay our standard per-unit pricing, but smaller buildings are still very welcome — many find StrataStation worth it for the time savings alone, even if the per-unit math works out higher than the headline rate. Talk to us about your building and we'll help you decide.

Question 9

How does StrataStation handle personal information?

Accepted Answer

All StrataStation databases are hosted in Canada. Read our privacy policy for information about how personal information is handled.

Question 10

Do you support BC and Alberta strata legislation?

Accepted Answer

StrataStation provides tools for building records, notices, and voting. The statutory forms currently offered are BC Forms B, F, G, H, and K. Contact us to discuss the requirements for your province and building.

Question 11

Where is our data stored?

Accepted Answer

Your building's data is stored on Canadian servers. A small number of specialist providers, such as payment processing and error monitoring, may handle limited data outside Canada in the course of delivering the service. We will tell you which providers those are, and what they can see, on request.

Question 12

How do you protect our data?

Accepted Answer

We use bank-level encryption for all data in transit and at rest. Our platform includes role-based access controls, two-factor authentication, automatic backups, and regular security audits. We're committed to protecting your residents' sensitive information.

Question 13

Can residents access StrataStation on their phones?

Accepted Answer

Yes. StrataStation works in any mobile browser, so residents can register visitor parking, submit maintenance requests, view notices, and book amenities right from their phones with no download required. We also offer a mobile app for residents who prefer it.

Question 14

How does the digital parking system work?

Accepted Answer

Residents can register visitor vehicles online or via their phone, generating a digital pass. QR codes can be posted in your parking area for visitors to self-register. Security and patrol can verify passes in real-time, and violations are automatically documented with photo evidence.

Question 15

Can we customize the platform for our building?

Accepted Answer

Yes! StrataStation includes custom branding options where you can upload your building's logo and choose colours. You can also customize amenity booking rules, parking policies, notice categories, and more to match your building's specific bylaws and procedures.

Question 16

Does StrataStation integrate with other systems?

Accepted Answer

StrataStation is designed to replace the patchwork of tools most buildings rely on today. For the few specialized systems you may already have in place — like accounting software or fob-based access control — we offer integrations so they continue to work alongside StrataStation. Contact us to discuss your specific setup.

Question 17

What kind of support do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We provide email support with same-business-day response times for all customers. Our support team is based in Canada and understands strata terminology and requirements. We also offer phone support for urgent issues and comprehensive documentation.

Question 18

Do you provide training for council members?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Every new building receives comprehensive onboarding training for council members and property managers. We also provide training resources and can schedule additional sessions as your council membership changes.

Question 19

How do you handle updates and new features?

Accepted Answer

We regularly release updates and new features based on customer feedback. Updates are automatically deployed with no action required from you. We announce new features through our release notes and provide documentation on how to use them.
